Labour’s Black Hole

Posted by The Skibbereen Eagle | March 8, 2017 0

We’ve all had enough of experts like Professor Hawking. That’s why we chose a leader with 2 Es at A-level who’s never had a real job.

Professor Stephen Hawking has called for Jeremy Corbyn to stand down as Labour leader, claiming he is a “disaster” for the party. The Labour-backing physicist said he would vote for Mr Corbyn and that he approves of many of his policies but he believes he should quit “for the sake of the party”.

The Cambridge University academic told The Times : “I regard Corbyn as a disaster. His heart is in the right place and many of his policies are sound but he has allowed himself to be portrayed as a left-wing extremist. “I think he should step down for the sake of the party.”

Professor Hawking’s comments came as shadow chancellor John McDonnell tried to heal divisions within the party amid claims that a “soft coup” was under way. Theresa May, meanwhile, has been urged by former Tory leader Lord Hague to call an early general election to avoid further parliamentary stand-offs over Brexit .

As the Prime Minister braced herself for potential defeat in the House of Lords, with many peers demanding Parliament gets a “meaningful” vote on the final Brexit deal, Lord Hague said she could reduce the risk of more close votes if she won an election. The peer said there was “no doubt” Mrs May would have a better chance of making Brexit a success with a “decisive” majority in the Commons, warning her that different factions in Parliament will inevitably find parts of the exit deal “difficult to stomach”.

For an expert Professor Hawking is stating the obvious, if Corbyn remains as Leader the Tories are heading for a landslide and Labour for 75 seats. Effectively the Labour Party will be irrelevant and Britain will be a one party state headed by a Tory Party with an extremist and destructive Little Britain Brexit agenda. Here is the Reality Check: Latest all polls average: Tories lead Labour by 13.8% (40.8% to 27%). This time last Parliament Labour led by 5.2% (40.7% to 35.5%). This is what happens when #Labour is “led” by a protester not a Leader?

How can you be standing up for workers when the majority of workers tell you they don’t want what you are selling? How can you stand up for Labour when most LABOUR VOTERS say Theresa May is a better Leader. It simply could not be worse than that.

Labour: We must listen to the voters

Voters: We think Corbyn is hopeless

Labour: Not those voters

In 1935 the Labour Party was in crisis. Attlee become the Leader and the party began on its road to the great victory of 1945. But first the Party had to get rid of its well meaning, but ineffectual leader, George Lansbury.

Ernie Bevin publicly warned Lansbury, “It is placing the Executive and the Movement in an absolutely wrong position to be hawking your conscience around from body to body asking to be told what to do with it.”

Now the delusional CorBots have started retaliating against Professor Stephen Hawking after his statement that Corby is useless and a gift to the laughing Tories. The level of delusion can be gauged from the statement above which you could just not make up. Say what you like about Hawking, but he knows a Black Hole when he see one!

For those unfamiliar with Black Holes, first there was nothing and the nothing exploded. Longer explanations are available.

The Skibbereen Eagle

In 1898, to widespread bemusement, a small Provincial Newspaper in an equally small town in the South West corner of Ireland sonorously warned the Czar of Russia that it knew what he was up to and he should be careful how he proceeded for “The Skibbereen Eagle” was wise to his game and in future would be keeping its eye on him! It is doubtful that Nicholas II, Emperor and Autocrat of All the Russias, even noticed the Eagle’s admonitions but as history soon proved he should have paid closer attention to the Eagle’s insightful opinions!

Today, powered by its readers and contributors, from its cyber eyries in Ireland and the centres of the Irish Diaspora The Eagle casts its Cold Eye on Life and Death and much in between.
