
This September sees the inaugural Wild Atlantic Way Cycle Sportif take place.
There is considerable excitement building in Kinsale, West Cork the start of the Wild Atlantic Way and of Cycle Sportif which will kick off there next Wednesday 13th September. So take your bicycle and head out west to embark upon 17-stages of twisting roads, steep climbs and sweeping descents in this unique cycling challenge from Kinsale in Co. Cork to Muff in Co. Donegal. As you take on 2,500km of Ireland’s world famous Wild Atlantic Way route, on just two wheels, you’ll be part of a fully-supported event provided with cycling tops, transfers, daily laundry, medics, food stops and accommodation and more.
Whether you’re an avid cycler, new to the sport, or simply interested in a new challenge, sign up for this unforgettable experience and join cyclists from all over the world as they descend upon the Wild Atlantic Way Cycle Sportif from 13th to 29th September. Participate in one or more of the stages and be part of something special this autumn. The Wild Atlantic Way Cycle Sportif will form part of a series of bi – annual Cycle events along the coastal route (from Kinsale in West Cork to Muff in Donegal) which will promote the Wild Atlantic Way as a premium Cycling destination internationally and domestically. The Sportif series will be fully supported, multi – stage events that will allow our cyclists concentrate on pumping the legs and taking in the wonderful scenery, letting the team at Ride Wild take care of everything else!

Ireland’s wonderful Wild Atlantic Way is the longest signed coastal route in the world at 2,500km (1,700 miles) in length. This wonderful stretch of coastline is divided into six regions, and the Wild Atlantic Way Cycle Sportif will take cyclists on an amazing journey through each and every one of them. The Wild Atlantic Way Cycle Sportif will take them on a route that’s designed by Cyclists for Cyclists. Challenging climbs and descents coupled with some of the most breath taking scenery on the planet make this a must – do bucket list Sportif. You can sign up for the whole Tour, or perhaps do a number of stages over the duration of the series, either way the Wild Atlantic Way will take your breath away and make you want return time and time again!

The Wild Atlantic Way Cycle Sportif is Ireland’s first fully-supported, multi-day sportif. The organisers look after everything, from on-road support vehicles, bike mechanics, road marshals, massage therapists, lunch stops and accommodation, allowing Cyclists to concentrate on pumping the legs and taking in the magical Wild Atlantic Way scenery along the route! Although the event will run over 20 days, it will be broken down into 4 blocks of 4 stages so and cyclists can choose the dates that suit them best, and use the 2018 Spring Wild Atlantic Way Cycle Sportif as a pre-season, ‘Get Fit’ training camp for their club.
